a close competition, the Ecuador Rafting Club received with
much satisfaction the official communication from the International
Rafting Federation confirming that it was elected to host
the event planned for October 12–16, 2005 on the Quijos

“The standard of the bids was very high and also very
pleasing in that it indicates the sport of rafting is being
taken more seriously and its popularity has grown to a new
level”, said Sue Leill-Cock, IRF Secretary. We expect
the participation of twelve woman’s teams and twenty-six
men’s teams for a total of 38 teams from 26 countries.
